2 3/4 cup sugar
2 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/8 tsp. salt
Directions

2. Combine remaining ingredients.
Drizzle over apples.
3. Cover and let cook on high for 3
hours, stirring well with large spoon
every hour.

hours until butter becomes thick and
dark in color. Stir occasionally with a
strong wire whisk for smooth butter.
5. Freeze butter or pour butter into sterilized jars and seal.
This recipe is such a treat because the
apple butter is not only delicious, but it
makes your house smell so wonderful
the entire time you are cooking it. A dear
friend shared this recipe with me years
ago and I can hardly let the fall season
pass by without making at least one
batch. It’s such an easy recipe and, since
almost everyone loves apple butter, it
makes for a great gift during the fall sea-
son as well. This year, I purchased apples
for my apple butter batch but my hus-
band and I planted two apple trees three
years ago and are hopeful that we’ll soon
be able to use our home grown apples.
Whether you are able to pick your own
apples or purchase them at the market,
I hope you’ll give this recipe a try and
share some with a friend.

dinnertime around the table with her husband and two daughters!
