Tammie Bairen is
one of the authors of
our art appreciation
study, Everyday Easels. She joined the
team;as;a;Star;Contributor;and;worked
as a volunteer contributor to the site.
She now works as an editor behind the
scenes at both SchoolhouseTeachers
.com and The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine. Born and raised in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, Tammie now lives in sun-ny,;historic;St.;Augustine,;Florida,;with
her;husband;and;three;children,;ages;16,
14,;and;12.
She says you may not know: “I
never wanted to homeschool. My
husband, who had not been home-schooled;a;day;in;his;life,;said;he;want-ed us to do so. I went to a conference
and informed him before the last session that we would be homeschooling
the whole way through high school,
God willing. Our oldest is going into
11th grade this year. God has brought
about many changes in my life because
of homeschooling. I have created curriculum to use in our co-op (for me
and others), taught seminars at con-ferences,;began;blogging;to;be;a;part
of;the;Review;Crew,;and;was;hired;by
The;Old;Schoolhouse.”;Tammie;is;also
writing a novel loosely based on the
history of her family and blogs at Living Life As It Unfolds.
