“I’m;a;MOMbie.” That’s what I thought when I caught my reflection in the mirror last week. Don’t believe
me? Here’s what I saw:
Tired eyes. Dark circles—lackluster.
You get the idea.
“Need-a-shower”;hair.
Expression? Let’s just say it lacked
animation; mouth sort of stuck in a half
moon,;facing;down.
Energy? Nope.
Joy? Yeah . . . no.
Our family was going 24/7. All
normal things, mind you. But, I was
exhausted. See if you can relate: birth-
day parties, Bible studies, homeschool
meetings, field trips, and family re-
unions.;Work;responsibilities,;laundry,
dishes, child training, and dinner . . .
again.;Yard;work,;unexpected;company,
and;planned;“vacation.”;Guiding;a;child
in getting a driver’s license, insurance
forms,;and;of;course,;volunteer;oppor-
tunities abounded.
On and on it went. I knew something
had to give. Life was getting out of bal-
ance. My husband needed my attention. I
assured him we would go on a date soon
but inside, my heart was heavy. Even
