Business Diversification
The saying goes that if a business is not
growing, it is dying. Our children are
learning to diversify their products in the
hopes of attracting new customers. James
now;sells;honey;in;various;sizes,;plus;he’s
added comb honey and beeswax products, including hand balm, lip balm, and
clean beeswax (made from the beeswax
from;his;hives).;Lauren;sells;various;fla-vors of dog treats and will soon expand
her line to include cat treats.
By;taking;on;the;challenge;of;running
a business and following their God-given
passions, our children are learning many
life lessons. As business owners, they have
a responsibility to produce quality products, maintain and improve their custom-er;service;skills,;answer;emails;or;phone
calls professionally and politely, and fol-low;Jesus’s;example;of;forgiveness,;love,
and patience with everyone they meet.
What does our future hold? I don’t
know,;but;God;does.;He’s;in;complete
control of my family and our lives. He
has;plans;for;our;future;(Jeremiah;29: 11).
Perhaps James will continue to grow
his apiary. Maybe Lauren will continue
baking dog treats, or perhaps she will
become;a;professional;baker;(which;she
talks;about;quite;often).;In;the;meantime,
we will continue to encourage James and
Lauren to be and do whatever God calls
them to do.

Over the last 25 years, leaders have stressed the need for sound
public-policy research and basic economic education. Though
important, they are proving to be insufficient to overcome trends
that are eroding our liberties. Why?
