are famous—they also serve fish and
chips. What’s so special about that? It’s
the Claire Donahue Special. In case you
don’t know who that is, she was the Gold
Medal Winner in the 2012 Olympics in
the 100-Meter Butterfly competition!
She’s been part of the Huck Finn’s family for fifteen years. Learn more at www

Back at the Wilderness resort you can
find Hidden Trail Bar & Grill, The Thirsty
Miner Restaurant and Saloon, The Mountain Marketplace and Deli, Grizzly’s Grill,
Coyote Cove Snack Bar, Bluegill’s Cove
Snack and Bar, and Billy Jack’s Snack Shack,
as well as in-room dining from the room-service menu. These are open at various
times; some are seasonal. For each adult
meal purchased, a child 11 and under can
eat breakfast or dinner for free at a couple
of these. Upon check-in you can request
a list of restaurants that will be open that
week and plan accordingly.
Overall, Wilderness at the Smokies
was a nice place to visit. I’m already looking forward to going back next year, and
that will be even better! In 2013 the staff
is going to unveil a brand-new, top-secret
attraction. It’s exciting for all of us homeschoolers too, as they host their very first
Homeschool Days event! This is going to
be fantastic. There will be a lot more information to come on this. Stay tuned in
the months ahead so that you can plan to
be there to enjoy all the fun and educational activities that will be taking place,
not just on site, but in the surrounding
areas too. This is a great place to come to
experience a fun, educational field trip.
Wilderness at the Smokies is conveniently located just a short drive off of
interstate 40 near Knoxville, Tennessee.

she enjoys cooking, gardening, reading,

Here are the clues: Your name is on the
label; the person who has given it loves
you deeply; whoever wrapped it did such
a marvelous job that you are certain that
the gift contained inside must be even
more spectacular.
Now, wait. Stop and consider the kind
of anticipation this would create inside
of you. Would it bring a warm rush of
delight, an a we of being the recipient of
not only a gift but of the love that motivated it in the first place? Are you with
me? Can you imagine the scene? With
all of that heart warming delight and eager anticipation, imagine unwrapping
the box and discovering what lies inside.
Ooooooh! Aaaaaah!
Now, while this image is fresh in your
mind, picture each member in your family. In ways beyond comprehension, each
of us is like that mysterious, beautiful box
holding uniquely precious gifts inside.
As parents, we are the recipients of such
an amazingly cutting-edge, “bundled”
gift—otherwise known as a child—that
leaves marketing companies—with all of
their merchandising hype—in the dust.
And most astonishing of all, these infinitely priceless gifts have been given to
us from the One Who is Love itself.
Just as we take the time to learn the
features and benefits of our most prized
electronic appliances, so we must take
the time to learn as much as we can about
the unique ways our children are wired,
put together, designed. As we begin
this short discussion of your children’s
learning styles, creative giftings, unique
