Homeschool Support
Encouraging Moms to
Homeschool Their Children
By Liz Nieves
I’m a homeschooling mom of a 9-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl. Howdid Iknow Iwascalledto homeschool? It was when my son
was just a little tot of 2 years old. I didn’t
know anything about “homeschooling,”
much less ever heard of it. All I remember is hearing it in my heart and thinking, “What is homeschool?” I mentioned
it to my husband, and he simply said,
“Our children would be a light in the
public school.”
Homeschooling is not
just school three to four
hours a day but a lifestyle
that is all day every day.
With that said, I never mentioned it
again. I just prayed about it and asked
the Lord to reveal it to my husband if
He wanted us to homeschool. Within a
short time after that my husband asked
me what I thought about homeschooling
our kids. I about fell over! God is faithful! I knew at that moment that it was
the Lord telling us to keep our children
home. I hit the ground running and have
never looked back, no matter how hard it
seems to get.
Since I have been on this homeschooling journey, God continues to unfold His
exciting Word to me about home education. Homeschooling is not just school
