It is not the Garden of Eden, but it is called Paradise. Hawaii is filled with the beauty of God’s Creation and His promises! The frequent rainbows are constant reminders of Him, but
that’s only the beginning of what a family can enjoy here. The mark of man is
also on the islands—particularly where
we live on Oahu—where some places are
covered in concrete, congested with cars,
and constantly buzzing with the noise
of tourism. Waikiki is a center of activity both for tourists and locals enjoying a
nice “staycation.” It is a bustling, beautiful location to lounge on the beach and
get a taste of the island with your family.
Go beyond Waikiki, however, and you’ll
discover so much more!
Our family has been blessed to live
on Oahu for more than five years. We’ve
had the freedom to explore throughout
the year—venturing to both popular
destinations and places that few tourists
find. (During every excursion, our car is
stocked with sunscreen, bug spray, and
toilet paper!) Here are some of our favor-
ite family-friendly activities and places
that we return to again and again with
visitors and friends.
