Tell us HERE what you
think of this issue!
I saw the magazine and I was way impressed! Your digital version is the best
I’ve ever seen. I hope you don’t mind that
I shared it with lots of people.
A great thing I like now about having
TOS available as an app on my iPhone:
while traveling recently for a short mission trip to Eastern Europe, I had my
iPhone with me as my camera/calendar/
alarm clock etc. However, I could not use
it because of the expense as a phone and
could only do some texting and Internet
functions when I had access to free WiFi,
which wasn’t that often. However, I did
have access to all my TOS magazines because they are saved on my iPhone and
don’t require data “time” in order to read!
Very nice to catch up at my leisure on all
the great articles and tips while traveling
and waiting in airports and on planes.
LOVED it!! Thanks!! I would not have
been able to have the room to take or
keep up with 3–4 magazines, but this let
me do all my reading when I wanted to,
right at my fingertips!

I’ve been catching up on downloading
the free E-Books I’m eligible for with my
subscription to SchoolhouseTeachers
.com. By the way, I love this new site
and think it was a brilliant move on the
part of TOS. I’m looking forward to us-
ing several of the “lessons” in the coming
school year. The value of the content far
outweighs the cost of the subscription,
so I tell everyone I know who is on the
homeschooling path that this is a won-
derful tool they should look into using.
Thanks again and enjoy this day!
Favorite Article From July 2012
My favorite article from the July issue is
“Molly’s Frugal Homeschooling.” I have
had to recently learn the art of being very
frugal. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 1 year ago this month (August 2011),
then in February my husband lost his
management position job. We were accustomed to buying whatever curriculum
we wanted and going on whatever field
trips we wanted, but since then I have
learned some of the ways to be frugal that
“Molly” described in her article.
I have also learned that our struggles
are not what define us but our successes
that God allows us to have! I am a homeschooling mother of three, ages 13, 12,
and 7. Two of them are very bright and
one has learning disabilities. It makes for
interesting school days. You have no idea
what a help TOS has been to me since I
started out on the homeschooling journey 8 years ago.

Favorite Article From August
Around the beginning of August, I saw
some magazines lying around, and one
of them featured an article about writing. I flipped to the specified page and
the article was about how to properly use
pronouns. The content was helpful and
funny, so I looked at the cover, and it was
titled The Old Schoolhouse. I knew my
mom worked for you, so I told her I liked
her TOS magazines and asked why there
weren’t any recent ones. She told me they
have an e-magazine, so then I read the
Near the end of the magazine, there
was an article by Andy Harris, The Tech
Homeschooler, about free software. I’ve
wanted MS Word and Adobe Photoshop
for a while, so I read on. I saw that they
had free counterparts for both Word and
Photoshop! Thank you, TOS!
Logan, thank you very much for reading
our magazine and my article in particular.
It says something good about homeschool
kids when they pick up magazines looking
for information about pronouns. (You’ve
got to admit, that’s kind of unusual.)
I’m really excited about all the articles
in the magazine, and I’m really looking
